Help beyond volunteering

Want to support Benny’s Bodega in as many ways as you can? Here are some more ways you can help!

  1. Donate monetarily, one time or monthly. Monetary donations help us pay the rent, utilities, insurance, lawyer and accountant fees, and buy items when donations get low.

  2. Donate essential items to stock our shelves. We help hundreds of people weekly and need continuous donations to keep our shelves stocked.

  3. Volunteer at the Bodega during open hours. The Bodega runs on volunteers; without three to four of them on every shift, we could not open.

  4. Conduct a drive with a group. Drives can be done through large groups such as a scout troop, sports team, church, school, business, or any group at all. You can contact us first to ask for what we need the most or ask for any of our acceptable donations (check our list).

  5. Conduct a drive at a grocery store. Speak to the grocery store manager about if you can station yourself at the door asking for food donations. Check with us ahead of time and we may be able to get the bus there!

  6. Make pickups for us. Saturdays and Sundays we need volunteers to make a large pickup from the Parsippany area. You need a pickup truck. There may also be opportunities for other pickups throughout the week.

  7. Give us ideas for fundraisers. We are always looking for new and fun ways to fundraise money. We especially love to get the community involved! Email us with any ideas!

The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.
